metamorphosis GmbH develops AI-based navigation and robotic technologies for orthopaedic and spinal surgery. The company’s technology enables the precise localisation of anatomy, instruments and implants directly from intraoperative X-ray images, eliminating the need for external trackers, reference markers and time-consuming registration steps.

By combining modern techniques from artificial intelligence, medical image processing and robotics, metamorphosis develops image-guided navigation, assistance and robotic systems for applications in traumatology, orthopaedics and spinal surgery.

The company employs around 50 people and holds more than 35 granted patents as well as over 150 further patent applications. The underlying technology has already been successfully incorporated into an FDA-approved product for the US market.
