Innovation area Sustainable Digital Ecosystems

In the "Sustainable Digital Ecosystems" innovation area, we focus on value creation in digital ecosystems. The focus here is on aspects of sustainability, taking into account ecological, social and economic targets. With our interdisciplinary approach, we integrate findings from computer science, economics and social sciences to design and implement innovative solutions. By addressing challenges such as resource efficiency, data protection and ethical considerations, we aim to create the foundation for a responsible, resilient and sustainable digital landscape.

We aim to initiate a fundamental shift towards a digital landscape that not only enables technological advances, but also ensures the sustainable, ethical and responsible use of digital technologies. The vision is to create a digital future that is sustainable for both society and the environment in the long term.

  • How can digital ecosystems be designed sustainably to support ecological, social and economic goals?
  • How can data protection and informational self-determination be guaranteed in digital markets?

  • How can shared value creation at the level of business ecosystems be enabled by IT?
