WI23 in Paderborn - 18th International Conference on Information Systems

WI23 is the most important conference for business informatics research in the German-speaking world and offers scientists the opportunity to present and discuss their current research results with colleagues. This year, the International Conference on Information Systems is organized by the Department of Information Systems at Paderborn University and supported by the SICP and the companies Miele, Arvato, Finanz Informatik, UNITY, Weidmüller and myconsult, among others.

The location of the university proves to be a particularly suitable venue for the conference, as Paderborn has a long tradition in the field of information technology (IT), is home to numerous software and technology companies and the university itself is one of the largest business informatics locations in the German-speaking world. This year, WI23 will be held in the Zukunftsmeile 2 (ZM2), the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (HNI) and the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF). As the largest computer museum in the world, the HNF presents not only the past and present, but also the future of information technology on 6000 square meters. The 18th International Conference on Information Systems builds on this.

With this year's main theme of the conference: "Digital Responsibility (DS): Social, Ethical, Ecological Implications of Information Systems (IS)", the IS community wants to make its contribution to digital responsibility. Due to the increasing influence of technologies, greater responsibility in dealing with them is becoming ever more important - and this is where research comes in. "In view of this, we are particularly looking forward to creating a common understanding of the topic of DS at this year's International Conference on Information Systems," says Prof. Dr. Daniel Beverungen, looking forward to the conference, which takes place from 18 to 21 September.
