The expansion of the charging infrastructure for electric cars should not only be faster, but above all more intelligent. The start-up Ladeplan, which we visited and interviewed as part of the DiSerHub transformation hub, has developed a solution for this.
In the film, founders Till Schlief, Lorenz Pott and Benjamin Kasten talk not only about the technologies and processes they use, but also about the challenges on the way to a smart charging infrastructure.
Ladeplan supports cities, municipalities and charging station operators with AI-supported demand planning to find the optimal locations for new charging stations: To this end, the start-up collects the occupancy status of more than 200,000 charging points across Germany and Europe every second and works with over 800 charge point operators.
With the help of artificial intelligence, the charging plan software analyzes the capacity utilization data of charging points and relates it to a range of environmental data. Based on this, the algorithm learns what makes an attractive location and can make precise statements about its profitability. The aim is to support customers in their investment decisions. In the software, different colors indicate where there is still a need for charging stations; different locations can be compared with each other in a ranking.
The aim of the DiSerHub “Digital Success Story” format is to present and publicize innovative ideas and solutions from the field of digital transformation in the automotive industry and to network the players.
DiSerHub is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and brings together companies, start-ups, research institutions, citizens and local authorities to develop innovative solutions that shape the future of mobility.
